Photography, or “painting with light” allows us to use a camera as an extension of our eyes, our hands and most importantly, our imagination. Sometimes, you need to wait for the perfect moment, a balance of light and color that illuminate a scene. Other times, changes happen right before our eyes and acting quickly is of the utmost importance. In Colorado, we are particularly blessed with a balance of bountiful light and vivid colors; from cloud infused sunrises, golden autumn colors, captivating whites of winter and the deep blue hues visible just before sunset.

The goal of my photography is to seek out the beauty in both the grandeur of a mountain landscape as well as in the smallest and unlikeliest places, like the corner of a backyard. I appreciate the textures of rock formations, the lines in the bark of a ponderosa pine, the ripples in a pool after a rainstorm or the pattern of droplets on a fallen leaf. I believe that photography is a means for us to slow down, observe and watch as nature’s beauty unfolds before us.
